DAFT PUNK DEREZZED VIDEO

Much gossip proceeded when it was announced that seemingly god like producers Daft Punk would be making the soundtrack to the new Tron Legacy remake. Here we catch the video to one of the songs, 'Derezzed' and some clips of the film itself. Both look and sound smashing. I wonder what the odds are for a 2011 tour..hmmmm...

SINGLE OF THE WEEK - DJ MEHDI/ZOMBIE NATION

With Halloween fast approaching it seems fitting that Zombie Nation would take this latest single of the week. Albeit a gnarly track itself, what really catches the eye (or ear) is Dj Mehdis super cool remix. Typically deep Zombie Nation style drums and, most notably a fantastic, stabby chord line turn this original into a real club badboy. Out now on Beatport/November 8th everywhere else on UKW records.

PT says 9/10.

CLOUDS PREVIEW/BLOOD MUSIC

Ook ok ok so I'm a month late on this. Big deal. I recently found out that none other than Fake Blood was going to baa like a sheep and join the crowd of producers who are now starting their own record imprints. And while it's nice to know there are now a billion and one labels, it wasn't until I found out it was Scottish newbies, Clouds, who have released Blood Music Records 001 in the form of their debut EP, Liquid, that things started to take an upward turn. See, whereas many minor musicians recently have decided to take the plunge into labels, Fake Blood is far from a minor musician. And it shows. The first two tracks on BMR do sound suspiciously similar to the label head, but fuck me who cares, they're bangers.

SINGLE OF THE WEEK - DIRTYPHONICS

Normally I would say that this sort of pretty standard hard Dubstep wasn't really my thing. But after hearing that Soulwax style rave sound  I'm in love with this Dirtyphonics remix of The Bloody Beetroots. Despite releasing the original (with Steve Aoki) on Dim Mak donkeys years ago the new release also comes with a Dj Oder 'Drum and Bass remix', it's shit. Download the Dirtyphonics remix below.

MARINA & THE DIAMONDS FRED FALKE REMIX

On reading a number of negative reviews we here at PT weren't expecting much when it came round to giving the new Fred Falke remix of Marina & the Diamonds a listen. HAVE YOU GONE FUCKING MAD!? Where's everyones sense of fun gone, its refreshing to here this sort of track when so many songs seem so lifeless and solemn driven purely by bass. Expect big things from the Welsh hottie on 679 Recordings.

PT says 8/10 and fucking lighten up

DIGITALISM NEW BLITZ EP

I wonder if the Digitialism guys realise that in their 2 year absence from music Dubstep has taken over the underground and now the charts? Hmmm. Whilst there's an air of promise with the lead single 'Blitz' it sounds a little dated, slightly 2005. Due for release some time in November on infamous French label Kitsune along with remixes from Harvard Bass and Villa. Have a quick listen here and make your own minds up.

PT says 6/10.

BOY 8-BIT THE KEEP EP

Long time PT favourite Boy 8-Bit serves up a delicious 4 course EP entitled 'The Keep' to keep us salivating for weeks on the 'This is Sound' imprint. Despite originally having a release date in April it has taken until October here in the UK for the official release, but my god is it worth it. The EP starts in a very typically Boy 8-Bit fashion with a groovy, melodic 4/4 beat that builds and builds until it has you on the very edge of your seat by the time everything comes together. Restricted 18, the second track on the EP is more of a roller but an excellent track none the less, and the collection is rounded off with two well constructed remixes courtesy of Run Hide Survive and Jokers of the Scene.

PT says 9/10

'RAM JAM' RODIGAN FABRICLIVE 54 TRACKLIST

When the news broke out to us here at PT a few weeks back that David Rodgian would be mixing the new Fabriclive CD we were more than just excited to say the least. Despite being billed along side many contemporary Dubstep artists these days, it seems 'Ram Jam' has gone back to his roots with plenty of Reggae, Dub and Dancehall on the mix. Rodigan says, "I deliberately avoided the obvious tracks which have appeared repeatedly on reggae compilation albums over the years. Fabric the club and Fabric the record label is at the cutting edge of music, and so I wanted to uphold that legacy with my album." And so he does, long live the rodders!

AEROPLANE WE CAN'T FLY LP

After tearing up the entire world it seems in the past few years with numerous remixes for the likes of Sebastian Tellier, MGMT and Chromeo, Aeroplane (now just Vito) are set to smash it once again with their beautifully crafted debut LP, We Can't Fly. Stand out tracks include Superstar (check out the extremely good Krays remix), London Bridge and We Can't Fly, but it wouldn't be giving them justice to suggest that these were the only tracks to look out for - buy the album here.

DUCK SAUCE BARBRA STREISAND VIDEO

This is the first post of the brand spanking new blog so let's kick it off with a banger! Barbra Streisand is the new track from super duo Duck Sauce aka A-trak and Armen Van Helden due for release on the 11th October on A-trak's very own Fool's Gold records. Receiving heavy support from the likes of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Zane Lowe it seems Barbra Streisand is set to be just as big if not bigger than last years 'aNYway'. Check out the video with appearances from Kanye West, Pharell and DJ Mehdi to name a few.
